What is Tentativa, and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

A Tentativa piece is a welded metal frame carrying stone. The client chooses a word and the dimensions of the wall. The word is hashed with SHA-256, and that hash seeds a generator which fixes how many bars there are, how large they are, and where they sit. Nothing is random, but nothing can be predicted until the word is resolved. Every word is recorded in a seed vault and permanently locked, so the same word can never produce a second piece.

What materials does the studio work in?

A deliberately narrow palette: metal, stone and wood, plus electronics and software where an object needs them. 4 Arcs pairs Nero Marquina marble with walnut, or Carrara marble with linden. Nothing is decorated — the material is the finish.

Can I buy directly from the website?

Yes. Stock products are sold through a secure Shopify checkout. Tentativa pieces are commissioned rather than stocked, and are configured and quoted through the studio.

Can I return something?

Accepted Answer

As a consumer you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days under Romanian law (OUG 34/2014). Personalised and made-to-order pieces — including one-of-a-kind Tentativa works — are exempt from that right. The Returns & Withdrawal Policy carries the details and the standard form.

Yes. The studio is open and accepting commissions for 2026. A limited number are taken each year. Dimension, material, finish and quantity are settled in writing, with a drawing where one is needed, before anything is committed to.
